and if you came to this site, you probably know that already. I don't expect I'll get many visitors apart from people I know.
The purpose of this place is to collect together the stuff I do, for the benefit of anyone who might happen across it. I also like writing about myself, because I'm so amazing.
The bit below is meant to be for "latest stuff", so it could be anywhere up to two months old, or more. It will contain updates on various projects I have on the go, news about gliding stuff, and maybe even the occasional rant.
Will do a proper update soon enough. In the meantime, the following has happened:
AGES again since the last update. During that time, the gliding club has bought a Grob Acro to replace our K13, been donated a Skylark II to replace our Astir, and I have failed to do any flying whatsoever. I have been rocket launching again though, and you can read about it here. I've also added some stuff to the physics page, but nothing that exciting.
Pictures from the Interunis 2006 are up! A joyous happenstance for all. Time to break out the Guinness. I really like Guinness.
I have moved house and have no internet access. Terrible. However, I've got some photos of the Cranwell ICL, taken with my shiny new phone (Sony Ericsson w810i - brilliant).
I am gliding club president elect! Handover is on 5th June, at which point our long but inevitable slide into chaos will start.
I have been gliding at Portmoak again! Joy! Pictures here, or start on the gliding page.
No updates in a while, but probably no visitors either, so who cares! Anyway, a page on the clapper I built for my room is up.
The IR camera hack is complete, although not with the original camera. For the full inspiring story, start here.
The electronics page actually has some electronics on it, although nothing that I made. I simply destroyed it. I'm hacking a digital camera to see into the infra-red. You can see your veins and stuff. Note the word "hacking" is in the present tense. Which means it's another thing I've started, but not finished.
The gliding page has details of work-to-date on the G-Meter I'm building for the gliding club. Not a lot so far, but a nice picture of the test breadboard and a proof-of-concept graph.
The website is now officially HTML 4.01 Strict compliant! And to prove it, I've got a fancy picture from the people at the W3 consortium at the bottom of every page!
If you're using Internet Explorer, you might find that the sub-menus for the gliding and electronics pages do funny things. That's because your browser doesn't understand CSS2. The solution? Get a new browser.
The "other" page has my reflections on 2005 .
The electronics and DIY page has some new stuff, including a rather nifty Maplin stock checker.
The gliding page is reasonably up to date, with pictures of my first solo, Portmoak and the Interunis and some electronics I have going for the club.
This page is XHTML 1.0 Strict Compliant, and should render perfectly in all browsers past, present and future. Any problems you experience with styles, readability, content, look, colour, function, comfort or boredom can be solved by changing your point of view.
